CE Week 2018 Comes to a Successful Close
PHILADELPHIA, June 22, 2018 – CE Week, the mid-year, Dealerscope-hosted consumer electronics trade show located at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is now complete. The show has been an epicenter for emerging trends and building connections in the North American technology space for over a decade. With attendees hailing from all over the consumer electronics industry, Day Two was filled with meetings, conference sessions and product showcases from our exhibitors.
As on Day One of CE Week, the Connected Car Show launched Day Two's activities, focusing attention and awareness on changing vehicle technology trends. CE Week’s core conference program then began with latest trending topics in CE, including 5G and IoT, Mixed Reality, Improving TV Quality, and Privacy and Security.
Exhibitors continued to showcase their newest tech and gave hands-on product previews and demos of what’s hot this year. There were over 70 exhibitors displaying cutting-edge products to retailers, distributors and press. Brett Hunt, vice president of sales and marketing at Westinghouse, stated: “CE Week is the perfect venue for us to announce products that are now shipping and that will be available for the holidays.”
In addition to the general exhibition, The Retailer Meetups at CE Week, featuring pre-scheduled, one-on-one sessions between retailers, distributors, buying groups and vendors, also continued on Day Two. By all accounts, this event provided extraordinary value to both exhibitors and retailers. “The Retailer Meetups were fantastic. It was great meeting with vendors that we don’t typically see, who are bringing innovative products to the market that align with our vision,” said Angus Bryan, senior vice president of Merchandising-Electronics, BrandsMart USA.
Day Two also marked the inaugural CI Management Symposium at CE Week. The classroom-like learning opportunity featured a half-day seminar presented by VITAL MGMT founders Paul Starkey and Steve Firszt. They led an exciting workshop for Custom Installation companies to position themselves for performance, adopt the right metrics, and see a different philosophy of re-investing in their own companies.
CE Week 2018's location at the Javits Center coincided this year and shared some attendees with the AIA Conference on Architecture 2018 show. A’18, as it is known, is the forum for creative ideas and strategies for architects and designers, showcasing what they’re doing to make a difference in the industry.
"With CE Week 2018 now in the books, we are excited to see what’s in store for 2019, and we look forward to its growth each year, with new and innovative companies, conference sessions and workshops," said Tony Monteleone, publisher of Dealerscope Magazine.
