Who is the organizer of IFA?

IFA is organized by The German Association for Entertainment and Communications Electronics (gfu) in cooperation with Messe Berlin.

Are children allowed to attend the IFA by themselves?

Children who have not yet reached age 15 are only allowed to enter the fairgrounds if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Exceptions apply only if explicitly stated on postings at the ticket office.

Can I bring animals onto the exhibition grounds?

How can I reach the Berlin Exhibition Site?

Basically, we can only recommend using public transportation to get to IFA, as parking spaces are only available in small numbers. The ICC parking garage will be open daily. A parking ticket here costs 25 Euros per day or 3 Euros per hour. In addition, 3.000 extra parking spaces will be available at the nearby Olympiastadion during IFA. A free bus shuttle will run from there to the Messe Süd Entrance and back.

You can use several shuttle lines on the exhibition grounds, an overview of the lines can be found here: Shuttle Map (PDF, 2.4 MB)

There will be no shuttle from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to the Exhibition Grounds. Please use the BVG app or Google Maps for your journey by public transport.

Exhibitor Badges

How many exhibitor badges do we obtain?

Exhibitor badges for exhibitors and their employees valid for the duration of the show will be issued as follows:

  • For stands up to 20m² - 3 badges
  • For each additional 10m² - 1 badge (double-storied structure excluded)

If additional exhibitor badges are required they can be ordered in the online shop.

Delivery to the stand

As an exhibitor you require materials to be delivered to your stand?

Please provide the following information:

Please note that you will be required to be present on the stand in order to take delivery of the material. It is therefore advisable to provide the forwarding company with your mobile phone number.

Stand Personnel

Do we need exhibitor badges for our stand personnel?

Stand personnel must have exhibitor badges. The badge is valid for the entire duration of the IFA, starting with the stand construction. Furthermore, the holder can access the exhibition site already two hours before the official opening of the show. This is not the case with day-tickets for public or trade visitors. Additional badges can be ordered using form "Additional construction/ dismantling passes" from the Exhibitor Service Manual.

Whom can I contact for additional stand personnel?

Capital Services GmbH (CSG), a subsidiary of Messe Berlin GmbH, would be pleased to help you arrange hostesses and hosts; use the form "Hostesses, Hosts" in the online shop.

Personnel for stand construction and removal, as well as staff for your stand, are available from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (German Employment Office) in Berlin.

We are exhibitors and would like to know how we can announce our own event in the IFA event search and the event brochure?

Please send us an e-mail with the name of your event, as well as the date, time, location and a brief description. Don't forget that you are required to register all events which take place in the evening; please use the respective form from the online shop.

Where do I find a complete list of all IFA exhibitors?

You can find information on all IFA exhibitors on the exhibitor and product search. You can define your search by a variety of parameters such as exhibitor name, product name, product group and more. All information is continuously updated.

The IFA app can be synchronized with the Virtual Market Place.


Where can I get tickets for IFA?

We recommend to order IFA tickets at the online ticketshop, where you can take advantage of advance booking conditions. Starting on the first day of IFA, your tickets will be available at any box office on the exhibition site. More information about ticket prices

Do you offer free entrance for children?

Yes, children up to 6 years can enter IFA without a ticket.

Our school class would like to order group tickets for IFA. What are the advantages of group tickets?

School classes including teachers can purchase tickets for EUR 35.00. Furthermore, for pupils planning a visit there is the possibility to purchase a pupil ticket for only EUR 9.00. More information about ticket prices can be found under (Public Visitor's Website, in German).

Do you offer free entrance for wheelchair users escorts?


Does the IFA ticket include free public transport within the Berlin?

No! IFA tickets or exhibitor badges do NOT entitle to use Berlin public transport like busses, metro or suburban trains for free.

Is IFA wheelchair accessible?

Trade Visitors

You are a trade visitor, if you can affirm one of the following statements:

  • visiting IFA because of professional reasons and/or interest
  • belong to the CE- or HA-trade (retailer, whole-sale)
  • working in a company of the consumer electronics or home appliances industry, e.g. product development, sales, marketing
  • writing for specialist media
  • working in research/development institutes or in a management consultancy

What are my benefits as a trade visitor?

How can I register as a trade visitor?

Registration as a trade visitor takes place automatically with either the purchase of a trade visitor ticket or the submission of a ticket voucher. Before IFA starts, take advantage of convenient online registration at the IFA Ticketshop. During IFA, trade visitor tickets will be available at all IFA box offices at the entrances to the trade fair. If you are not from Germany please contact directly the foreign representatives of Messe Berlin in your country. Our representatives will help you to buy tickets and support you with your travel preparations to Germany.

Do trade visitors get automatically access to the separate dealer areas?

Access is not granted automatically. In some cases, an individual invitation from the exhibitor is required.

Please use event database on the IFA website where all events are listed and constantly updated. Further information is provided within the section EVENTS/International-Keynotes on the IFA website.

Where can I find the plans of individual halls?

The plans will be available a few weeks before the show. They can be accessed at the IFA Virtual.

I need a visa - what do I need to do?

In July 2013 a decree was issued by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs that an invitation letter by the trade show organizer is as a rule no longer needed when applying for visa in order to attend a trade show in Germany. All Visa Centers as well as German Embassies and Consulates were informed about this decree ( Moreover visa fees are waived for exhibitors at German trade fairs (see also and Please refer in your visa application to this. If an embassy insists on a letter of invitation, please contact

Additional information regarding the visa application procedure, requirements for the issue and application forms in different languages are available at the website "visa regulations" of the German Foreign Office as well as at the respective websites of the embassies and consulates general. Persons requiring a visa to enter Germany should submit their applications in good time prior to the respective trade show.

A visa application is possible up to three months before entry.

What is IFA Virtual?

The IFA Virtual online platform serves as an additional and industry-specific marketing channel before, during and after the trade show and supports media representatives and trade visitors to IFA in their preparation and follow-up work.

As an exhibitor, you can manage an overview of your product and program highlights here, as well as your personal profile, in order to get in touch with media representatives and trade visitors at IFA 2022.
